On August 29th 2012 we posted a piece on Director Adam Sjoberg's documentary, Shake the Dust. See the post HERE. At the time he was running a Kick Starter campaign in an attempt to fund his feature length documentary. Unfortunately his campaign fell short of the $35,000 he was hoping to raise.
It appears that Adam didn't let that minor set back discourage him in his pursuit to get the film made. At the recent unveiling of the Nasir Jones Hiphop Fellowship at Harvard, Hiphop heavy weight NAS spoke about his involvement in the project.
“What these kids are doing around the world reminds me why I fell in love with hip-hop and how important it is as a creative and constructive outlet,” Nas said in a statement. “After hearing Adam’s vision for this project and hearing the stories, I was incredibly excited to help bring the film to global audiences who need to hear this surprising message of empowerment.”
NAS has agreed to serve as the films Executive Producer.
